As hype builds around a possible UFC fight on the White House lawn in 2026, Hall of Famer Michael Bisping has weighed in — and he’s not backing Conor McGregor. Instead, Bisping says the ultimate Independence Day headliner should be a transatlantic showdown: Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall.
On his YouTube channel, Bisping reacted to Donald Trump’s viral idea of staging a UFC event at the South Lawn as part of America’s 250th anniversary. While McGregor jumped at the idea and Michael Chandler threw his name in too, Bisping offered a different take entirely.
“If this is about spectacle, legacy, and USA vs UK,” Bisping said, “then Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall is the only choice.”
It’s hard to argue. Aspinall is riding high after beating Ciryl Gane, and Jones — still technically retired — might be tempted by a one-off mega fight in Washington, D.C. Bisping called it “the biggest heavyweight fight ever,” and the symbolism of England vs. America on July 4 practically sells itself.
Whether or not it happens, the fan buzz is undeniable. Bisping’s fantasy booking only adds fuel to the fire for what could be the most surreal moment in UFC history.
