Colby Covington Calls for White House Fight After UFC 314 Cameo, Targets Paddy Pimblett or Gilbert Burns

Colby Covington has been quiet since his December 2024 loss to Joaquin Buckley, but the former welterweight title challenger says he’s ready to return. This time, “Chaos” is aiming for the most politically charged stage in MMA history — a rumored White House fight card.

Covington Plots His Return

Speaking in a new interview, Covington revealed he’s been in discussions with UFC executive Hunter Campbell about a late 2025 return. He mentioned possible fights at Madison Square Garden or T-Mobile Arena but emphasized that he’s willing to take any booking the UFC makes.

“I wanna get in there as soon as possible and on a full camp,” Covington said. “Last fight, I didn’t get that. Give me a full training camp, and I’ll fight anybody in the world.”

Paddy Pimblett or Gilbert Burns?

Covington was seen cage-side at UFC 314 after Paddy Pimblett defeated Michael Chandler. He immediately began targeting “The Baddy,” daring him to move up to 170 pounds. Covington accused Pimblett of weight-cutting issues and mocked his image, saying he’s only popular because of his accent and haircut.

If Pimblett is unavailable, Covington floated another name: Gilbert Burns. Although Burns remains a dangerous contender, Covington insisted he would take the fight.

“Please, Dana, Let Me Fight at the White House”

Despite the callouts, Covington’s biggest plea wasn’t for a specific opponent but for a historic venue. A long-time supporter of Donald Trump, he begged Dana White to book him on the rumored White House card, claiming no fighter has done more to merge MMA and politics.

“There’s nothing more I want than to fight at the White House,” Covington said. “Trump asked for it. Dana, please — let me fight on that card.”

Looking Ahead

With Ilia Topuria circling a money fight with Pimblett and Covington’s history of long layoffs, it’s unclear if he’ll actually make it back in late 2025. But with Trump’s backing and his ability to stir headlines, “Chaos” has once again made himself impossible to ignore.
