Irish superstar Conor McGregor has finally tied the knot with long-time partner Dee Devlin – and he did it in the most on-brand way possible: a secret wedding inside Vatican City, followed by a loud, cigar-fuelled party in Rome that looked straight out of a movie.
New footage from the reception shows the couple celebrating in style after their tightly controlled ceremony. The clip opens with McGregor and Devlin posing alongside guests in glittering sequin dresses, before cutting to the dance floor where the former UFC champion bounces around with a cigar in hand while a live band plays beneath a neon sign that reads “House of McGregor.”

Dee, in a long-sleeve lace gown, and McGregor, in a classic black tux and waistcoat, move through a reception packed with small details: an opulent cigar bar where guests are handed freshly rolled sticks, fireworks outside, and that unmistakable sense that the guest list was carefully curated and tightly protected.
Inside the Vatican ceremony
Behind the party footage is an even more surreal setting: the pair were married in the tiny Chiesa di Santo Stefano degli Abissini, tucked inside the Vatican walls just behind St. Peter’s Basilica. Only a small inner circle was allowed in, and the ceremony was kept off the radar until photos began to leak online.

After the vows, the couple were spotted being driven through Rome in a vintage 1930s Rolls-Royce Phantom III, McGregor grinning in a sharp tux with oversized bow tie while Devlin sat beside him in full bridal lace. It’s a long way from the Cage Warriors days to cruising Vatican City in a Rolls as one of combat sports’ most famous couples.
From Sistine Chapel dream to discreet Vatican wedding
For years, the plan had been even more ambitious. The pair reportedly dreamed of saying “I do” in the Sistine Chapel, but Vatican rules meant that idea was shut down early. Instead, they pivoted to the smaller Santo Stefano church – historically one of the oldest surviving churches inside the Vatican complex – and opted for a low-key ceremony with a louder, flashier celebration afterwards.
Legal baggage and public backlash still in the background
The fairytale visuals don’t erase the shadow hanging over McGregor in 2025. Earlier this year, he lost a high-profile civil rape case in Dublin’s High Court over an alleged 2018 incident in a hotel. A jury found against him; his appeal was rejected, and he now faces a hefty damages bill and seven-figure legal costs. McGregor has consistently denied wrongdoing, insisting the encounter was consensual, but the ruling stands.
That history is one of the reasons some Vatican and Church figures reportedly questioned the idea of granting him access to a venue inside Vatican City at all, especially at such a sensitive time. Despite the criticism and the legal fallout, McGregor and Devlin have stayed together and continued to present a united front.
Dee has spoken publicly about their relationship before, insisting that, whatever has happened around them, their focus is on their four children and on keeping their family intact. Judging by the wedding party footage, they’re determined to lean into that version of the story – neon signs, cigars, fireworks and all.
