DWCS 2026 Week 10 Preview & Predictions: Bulaid vs. Visconde, Pereira vs. Sundell & Odds

DWCS 2026 Week 10 Preview & Predictions: Bulaid vs. Visconde, Pereira vs. Sundell & Odds

Dana White's Contender Series has one more night to find its next group of UFC fighters. The 2026 season concludes Tuesday, October 13, with five matchups at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, headlined by undefeated Moroccan-Dutch featherweight Ilias Bulaid against LFA champion Erick Visconde.

Just below them is arguably the card's biggest attraction: 21-year-old former ONE Championship Muay Thai titleholder Smilla Sundell facing Aline Pereira, the younger sister of former two-division UFC champion Alex Pereira. Two unbeaten Brazilian middleweights, a towering 6-foot-6 welterweight and a pair of American lightweight finishers complete the lineup.

Contender Series 2026 Week 10, also billed as DWCS 96, begins at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT and streams on Paramount+ in the United States. All 10 fighters successfully made weight on October 12, leaving the full five-fight card intact.

The season has already produced 42 UFC contracts and 32 finishes through nine weeks. Four more contracts were awarded last Tuesday, including one to Salhahuddin Everett, Dana White's former personal runner, following his knockout of Ozzy Martin. Those finishes are available in our DWCS Week 9 highlights.

Week 10 has a particularly interesting betting board. Bulaid and Visconde are relatively close in the market, while Sundell has become an enormous favorite despite having only two professional MMA fights. Elsewhere, two unbeaten middleweights offer one of the more tempting underdog opportunities of the finale.

Ilias Bulaid vs. Erick Visconde: Two champions finally meet

Ilias Bulaid vs. Erick Visconde was supposed to happen two weeks ago. Both fighters made weight for Week 8, but Bulaid fell ill shortly before the event, forcing the featherweight matchup off the card.

Instead of losing their opportunity altogether, the pair were rebooked for the Season 10 finale.

Ilias Bulaid enters at 9-0 with one no contest. The 31-year-old brings a 25-6 professional kickboxing background and previously competed in Bellator before continuing his MMA development. His recent performances have shown that he is more than a kickboxer attempting to survive grappling exchanges.

Bulaid submitted Eduard Demenko with an anaconda choke in July 2025 and stopped Wellyton Junior with a knee to the body in April 2026, capturing the interim Levels Fight League featherweight championship.

His striking remains the clearest advantage. Bulaid attacks the legs and body aggressively, changes targets well and has considerable experience fighting at a pace that punishes opponents who hesitate. He is also approximately three inches taller than Visconde, with a reach advantage of around four inches.

But Erick Visconde is not simply another regional prospect making his first appearance against an elite striker.

The 29-year-old Brazilian is 17-3 and holds the LFA featherweight championship. He won that belt in May by defeating previously unbeaten Gustavo Pintos in a close split decision. His earlier victory over Chris Mecate further strengthened an already substantial MMA résumé.

Visconde has six knockout victories and six submissions, making him a more varied finishing threat than Bulaid's kickboxing pedigree might suggest. He also has significantly more professional MMA experience, and all three of his career defeats came at bantamweight.

The biggest tactical question is whether Visconde can consistently disrupt Bulaid's striking rhythm. He is dangerous in exchanges, but spending prolonged stretches at kickboxing range against Bulaid would mean accepting the Dutch-Moroccan fighter's strongest area.

Visconde's grappling, ability to scramble and experience against established regional opponents could become increasingly important if he makes Bulaid work through extended exchanges rather than trading spectacular strikes.

Current odds have Bulaid around -145 and Visconde +115, although some sportsbooks offer a slightly better price on the Brazilian.

MMAtown pick: Erick Visconde +115. This is a narrow underdog selection, not a confident prediction that Bulaid will struggle. We believe Visconde's broader MMA experience and grappling options give him a slightly better chance than the betting line suggests.

Smilla Sundell vs. Aline Pereira: An elite striker's fast track to the UFC

Two accomplished strikers are attempting to enter the UFC through completely different stages of their careers.

Smilla Sundell is only 21, but her striking résumé is considerably more developed than those of most fighters making their Contender Series debuts.

The Swedish fighter became ONE Championship's youngest Muay Thai world champion when she defeated Jackie Buntan in 2022, claiming the promotion's women's strawweight title at just 17 years old.

Her transition to MMA began in 2026, and she has wasted little time. Sundell knocked out Miranda Barber in January and stopped Maya Stewart in June, moving to 2-0 with two finishes.

She has been preparing at Diaz Combat Sports in Vancouver, adding the grappling and defensive responsibilities required for MMA to her already accomplished striking game.

Aline Pereira represents a very different proposition.

The Brazilian turned 36 earlier this month and has a 3-2 professional MMA record. Like her brother Alex, she came from a kickboxing background before expanding into other combat sports. She is also the inaugural Karate Combat women's flyweight champion.

Pereira has won her last two MMA fights, defeating Nejra Repp and Jade Masson-Wong by decision. She trains under Glover Teixeira and has the benefit of working around fighters with extensive UFC experience.

The matchup is particularly interesting because neither athlete is likely to find the other intimidated by high-level striking. Sundell's volume, pressure and Muay Thai combinations present a demanding challenge, but Pereira possesses her own kickboxing experience and a dangerous left hand.

The betting market has moved dramatically toward Sundell. She opened around -185, but by October 12 her price had climbed into the -400 to -550 range, depending on the sportsbook.

That movement tells us two things: the market has enormous confidence in Sundell's upside, and much of the potential betting value on her side has already disappeared.

There is also a reason not to confuse her outstanding Muay Thai record with proven MMA experience. Sundell has fought professionally in mixed martial arts only twice. Pereira has five MMA appearances herself, and both are still developing the parts of their games that have nothing to do with standing exchanges.

MMAtown pick: Smilla Sundell. Betting verdict: pass at the current -450 price. Sundell is the deserved favorite, but the risk attached to a 2-0 MMA prospect makes such a steep moneyline difficult to justify.

Will Rentz vs. Luis Francischinelli: Can Rentz solve the 6-foot-6 welterweight?

Will Rentz vs. Luis Francischinelli might be the most physically unusual matchup on the final card.

Luis Francischinelli stands 6-foot-6 and competes at welterweight. If he earns a UFC contract, he would become the tallest welterweight on the roster.

The Brazilian is 6-1 with all six professional victories coming by stoppage. His only defeat came against former LFA champion Jonathan Piersma, and he has otherwise made a habit of finishing opponents before they can settle into fights.

His size gives him a considerable advantage when controlling distance, but it can also create opportunities for opponents who are able to close the gap and work inside his long punches.

William Rentz is 8-2 and trains under UFC veteran Billy Quarantillo. The American arrives on a five-fight winning streak, with all five victories coming by stoppage and his last three ending in the opening round.

Rentz is around six feet tall, which would normally be a perfectly reasonable frame for the division. Against Francischinelli, however, he will be giving up approximately half a foot in height.

His route to victory likely requires sustained pressure and the ability to fight effectively inside. Standing at the end of Francischinelli's strikes would make the Brazilian's physical advantages much harder to overcome.

Francischinelli is currently around -245, with Rentz approximately +205.

MMAtown pick: Luis Francischinelli. Betting verdict: pass on the moneyline. His physical advantages are substantial, but a price implying more than a 70-percent chance of victory is difficult to justify against an experienced, aggressive finisher like Rentz.

Douglas da Lapa vs. Davi Cabral: An unbeaten Brazilian showdown

Someone's perfect professional record will disappear when Douglas da Lapa meets Davi Cabral in the middleweight division.

Da Lapa enters at 6-0, with five finishes, and has built his professional game around powerful Muay Thai striking and Luta Livre grappling. The 27-year-old has stopped his last three opponents and will compete outside Brazil for the first time.

Cabral is 7-0 and brings a different technical foundation. He has a strong Brazilian jiu-jitsu background, but his six finishes are divided between four TKOs and two submissions. He is not a fighter who needs every exchange to become a grappling contest.

Unlike da Lapa, Cabral already lives and trains in the United States. He works out of WarRoom MMA in Texas and has experience competing on American regional cards.

There is one important variable: this will be only Cabral's second professional appearance at middleweight. Da Lapa has been competing consistently in the division, so Cabral's comfort with the weight and physical exchanges deserves attention.

Stylistically, though, Cabral has ways to complicate the favorite's approach. He can threaten submissions if da Lapa becomes overly aggressive, and his striking record suggests he is not entirely dependent on getting the fight to the canvas.

The moneyline currently makes da Lapa approximately a -185 favorite, with Cabral available around +155.

MMAtown value pick: Davi Cabral +155. We see this as a closer contest than the odds indicate. Cabral's grappling credentials, finishing versatility and experience competing in the United States make him an interesting underdog, although both fighters remain relatively untested at this level.

Jason Asher vs. Greg Foster: Two American finishers open the finale

The lightweight opener brings together undefeated Jason Asher and Greg Foster, two fighters receiving their Contender Series opportunity on relatively short notice.

Asher is 5-0 with five knockout victories. The 26-year-old Louisiana prospect trains under Shawn Gayton and the Le brothers, Thanh and Vinh, and has fought three times already in 2026.

He normally competes at featherweight but moves to lightweight for this appearance, removing some of the weight-cutting demands while giving up the familiarity of his usual division.

Foster, meanwhile, brings an 8-1 record and trains at the MMA Lab in Arizona. The 34-year-old has more professional experience than Asher and comes from a team with a strong Contender Series history, including the early development of Sean O'Malley and several other UFC fighters.

Asher's explosive finishing ability makes him the favorite, but Foster offers a more experienced opponent than the younger fighter has typically encountered.

At approximately -200 for Asher and +165 for Foster, the moneyline already gives the undefeated prospect a substantial advantage.

MMAtown pick: Jason Asher. Betting verdict: no strong value at -200. His knockout power could produce a quick finish, but moving up to lightweight against an experienced opponent creates enough uncertainty to avoid forcing a wager.

DWCS 2026 Week 10 odds and MMAtown predictions

All five matchups have available moneyline odds. The following prices are an October 12 snapshot, and individual sportsbooks may offer different numbers before the fights begin.

Matchup Betting odds MMAtown prediction Betting verdict
Ilias Bulaid vs. Erick Visconde Bulaid -145 / Visconde +115 Erick Visconde Visconde +115 — value underdog
Smilla Sundell vs. Aline Pereira Sundell -450 / Pereira +325 Smilla Sundell Pass at current price
Luis Francischinelli vs. Will Rentz Francischinelli -245 / Rentz +205 Luis Francischinelli Pass at current price
Douglas da Lapa vs. Davi Cabral Da Lapa -185 / Cabral +155 Davi Cabral Cabral +155 — value underdog
Jason Asher vs. Greg Foster Asher -200 / Foster +165 Jason Asher Pass at current price

Our two preferred moneyline opportunities are Erick Visconde +115 and Davi Cabral +155. Neither is a high-certainty selection; both are underdogs whose records, styles and competitive experience make the available returns worth considering.

We expect Sundell, Francischinelli and Asher to win their respective fights, but each is already priced as a substantial favorite. Predicting a winner and identifying a worthwhile bet are different things, particularly on a Contender Series card featuring several fighters with relatively small professional records.
