DWCS 2026 Week 6 Results: Akbar Abdullaev’s 19-Second KO Leads Four UFC Contract Winners

Dana White's Contender Series 2026 Week 6 added four more fighters to the UFC roster, but one 19-second right hand was the moment that swallowed almost everything else on the card.

Akbar Abdullaev delivered the knockout everyone expected him to be capable of, only faster and cleaner than most could have imagined. Mayton Perea, Igor Cavalcanti and Luis Hernandez joined him in receiving UFC contracts from Dana White after wins at the Meta APEX on September 15.

Tyshawn Williams was the fifth winner of the night and remained undefeated, but his unanimous decision over Antônio Monteiro wasn't enough for an immediate contract. White instead told Williams he would get another opportunity on Dana White's Contender Series later this season.

Akbar Abdullaev lands a 19-second one-punch knockout

There was plenty of hype around Akbar Abdullaev before Week 6. He somehow exceeded it.

The unbeaten former ONE Championship fighter barely needed an exchange to end Akbar Abdullaev vs. Ednilson Santos. Abdullaev used a couple of jabs to find the distance, then uncorked an overhand right that landed flush and immediately switched Santos off.

The official time was just 19 seconds.

It was the kind of knockout that doesn't require much technical interpretation afterward. Santos fell face-first before there was any possibility of follow-up offense, and Abdullaev moved to 14-0 with 14 professional finishes.

Another angle only emphasized how cleanly the right hand landed.

Dana White's reaction afterward was even more notable than the contract itself. White called Abdullaev “the greatest talent that's ever been on this show,” an extraordinary endorsement considering the list of fighters who have passed through DWCS since its launch.

Abdullaev arrived with considerably more high-level experience than the typical Contender Series prospect. He had already gone 5-0 in ONE Championship and stopped Tang Kai, although he was ineligible to win ONE's featherweight title in that fight after missing the promotion's hydrated weight requirement.

The question before Week 6 was whether Abdullaev looked ready for the UFC. Nineteen seconds later, White's answer could hardly have been clearer.

Mayton Perea overwhelms unbeaten Zevan Hunt in 45 seconds

The main event looked competitive on paper. It didn't stay competitive for long.

Mayton Perea immediately met Zevan Hunt in the middle and hurt him with straight punches during the opening exchanges.

Hunt tried to use his wrestling to survive, but Perea kept finding him every time the action returned to the feet. Hunt was dropped repeatedly before the final barrage ended Mayton Perea vs. Zevan Hunt at 45 seconds of Round 1.

Perea improved to 9-3 and extended his winning streak to four, with all four of those victories coming by strikes. More importantly, the Ecuadorian converted his first Contender Series opportunity directly into a UFC contract.

For Hunt, it was the first defeat of his professional career after entering the night 7-0.

Igor Cavalcanti makes his second DWCS chance count

Igor Cavalcanti had already experienced the other side of the Contender Series.

He arrived on the show unbeaten in 2024 but lost a decision to Seok Hyeon Ko and went home without a UFC deal. Two years later, there was no leaving the result up to three judges.

Cavalcanti cracked Oscar Ravello with a straight right almost immediately and sent him to the canvas. Ravello defended intelligently enough to survive the initial rush and even managed to fire back, but he could never properly escape the bottom position.

Cavalcanti stayed controlled rather than burning himself out chasing an instant stoppage. He kept finding openings for punches on the ground until referee Kevin McDonald stepped in at 1:38 of the first round of Igor Cavalcanti vs. Oscar Ravello.

The win moved Cavalcanti to 14 career victories and, this time, Dana White gave him the contract that eluded him on his first appearance.

It was one of the cleaner redemption stories Season 10 has produced: lose on DWCS, rebuild on the regional scene, get called back and remove all doubt in less than two minutes.

Luis Hernandez survives danger and submits Hugo Guillon

The first three contract winners all ended their fights quickly. Luis Hernandez had to show considerably more before earning his.

Hernandez and Hugo Guillon fought at an exhausting pace from the opening minute of Luis Hernandez vs. Hugo Guillon.

Hernandez scored an early takedown, attacked with elbows in close and repeatedly hurt Guillon to the body. His striking produced several strong moments in Round 1, including heavy body kicks and an overhand that visibly rattled the Frenchman.

But Guillon refused to fold and began returning enough offense to make the fight increasingly uncomfortable.

That became even more obvious early in Round 2. Hernandez was dropped by a short punch, ate knees and then found himself underneath Guillon while defending a dangerous choke attempt.

Instead of unraveling, Hernandez escaped, reversed the grappling exchange and found Guillon's back. He locked in the rear-naked choke and forced the tap at 1:01 of the second round.

Hernandez improved to 8-0 with eight finishes, including five submissions, and the combination of offense, adversity and recovery was enough to secure his UFC contract.

His road to the UFC has been unusual even by Contender Series standards. Hernandez entered the show with viral notoriety from his controversial ultra-fast knockout of Brian Topp and from the 2025 regional fight that ended with Sean Strickland entering the cage during a confrontation. Week 6 gave him something much more important for his career: a UFC roster spot earned entirely through what he did after the cage door closed.

Tyshawn Williams beats Antônio Monteiro but doesn't get a UFC contract

Tyshawn Williams was the only winner who didn't leave Week 6 with an immediate UFC deal.

That doesn't mean his night was a failure.

The former collegiate wrestler repeatedly took Antônio Monteiro down and controlled significant portions of their featherweight fight. Williams' strongest work came early, when his wrestling was explosive and he could add punches and elbows from top position.

The issue was sustainability.

Williams visibly tired as Tyshawn Williams vs. Antônio Monteiro progressed. Monteiro began stuffing attempts more effectively, threatened submissions and forced Williams to fight through fatigue rather than simply dominating every grappling exchange.

Williams still did enough to win clearly. The judges scored the fight 29-28, 29-27 and 29-27, improving his professional record to 9-0.

Dana White chose not to sign him immediately, however. Instead, Williams was offered another appearance on the Contender Series later in Season 10, giving him an unusual opportunity to improve on a winning performance and potentially earn the contract on his second appearance of the same season.
