Namo Fazil Claims Pre-Fight Hotel Confrontation Before Kaik Brito DWCS Knockout Loss

Namo Fazil Claims Pre-Fight Hotel Confrontation Before Kaik Brito DWCS Knockout Loss

Namo Fazil speaks out after Kaik Brito knockout loss

Namo Fazil has offered a disturbing explanation for why he believes he was not himself before his latest Dana White's Contender Series appearance.

Fazil lost to Kaik Brito by third-round knockout in the main event of Contender Series 2026: Week 2. Days later, Fazil alleged that a large group confronted him at the fighter hotel while he was deep into his weight cut.

According to Fazil, he normally cuts roughly 14 kilograms and had already dropped more than 10 when the incident occurred. He said he was wrapped in blankets in his room when around 15 Chechen men arrived. Fazil claimed one man slapped him while his coaches restrained him to prevent the situation escalating before fight night.

Fazil alleges Baysangur Susurkaev was among the group

Fazil further alleged that Baysangur Susurkaev was among those involved. Susurkaev is a UFC middleweight and a teammate of former UFC champion Khamzat Chimaev.

Those claims remain Fazil's account of the incident and should be treated as allegations rather than established fact. Fazil said his coaches kept him from fighting back because of his scheduled bout, and that police later arrived following a commotion at the hotel.

He acknowledged that the alleged confrontation did not leave him seriously injured, but argued that dealing with it while severely depleted from his weight cut affected his mental and physical condition before facing Brito.

Kaik Brito still delivered a devastating finish

Whatever happened before the event, Fazil vs. Brito remained competitive through two rounds. Brito then ended matters almost instantly in the third, landing the knockout punch just 12 seconds after the restart.

The result gave Brito a successful second chance on the Contender Series after his 2023 appearance ended in a decision loss. Fazil, meanwhile, saw his lengthy winning run come to an abrupt end.

Namo Fazil's history with Chechen opposition

Fazil has crossed paths with fighters from the region before. In June 2025, he handed previously unbeaten Russian fighter Yakub Sulimanov his first professional defeat, stopping him with punches in the third round.

That victory became one of the biggest results of Fazil's career before his eventual arrival on DWCS. However, the precise motivation behind the alleged hotel confrontation has not been independently established, and Fazil's account remains the central source for what happened.
