Bryan Battle edges Dalton Rosta at PFL Charlotte
Bryan Battle’s first major test on the PFL stage went all the way to the scorecards. The former UFC fighter defeated Dalton Rosta by split decision in the main event of PFL Charlotte: Battle vs. Rosta at Bojangles Coliseum in North Carolina.
Battle vs. Rosta was decided by the narrowest margin, with two judges scoring it 29-28 for Battle and the third giving Rosta the same score. Battle walked away with the victory, but Rosta made him work for every round.
The co-main event was just as competitive. Simeon Powell took a split decision over Dovlet Yagshimuradov in Powell vs. Yagshimuradov, with two 30-27 cards for Powell outweighing a 29-28 score for Yagshimuradov.
Lewis McGrillen wins another action-heavy fight
Lewis McGrillen and Brandon Lewis produced one of the liveliest stretches of the main card. McGrillen ultimately secured a unanimous decision in McGrillen vs. Lewis, earning scores of 30-27, 29-28 and 29-28.

Aaron Jeffery was more convincing on the scorecards, beating Josh Silveira unanimously in Jeffery vs. Silveira. The judges returned scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 30-26.
Josh Fremd stoppage sparks debate
The main card’s only finish came from Josh Fremd, who stopped Jhony Gregory with punches at 1:44 of the second round in Fremd vs. Gregory. The ending immediately drew discussion, however, with footage appearing to show a clash of heads and a strike landing behind Gregory’s head during the finishing sequence.

Goltsov and Waters deliver quick PFL Charlotte finishes
The preliminary card had considerably more finishing action. Denis Goltsov needed only 52 seconds to stop Hasan Mezhiev in Goltsov vs. Mezhiev, while Trey Waters opened the show with a sharp first-round TKO against Trukon Carson.

Waters vs. Carson ended at 4:37 of round one, giving Waters an emphatic start to the night.
