Shaj Haque Set for Long-Awaited Title Defense Against Jawany Scott at Cage Warriors 192 in London

Shaj Haque returns to defend his flyweight title as Cage Warriors heads to London for Cage Warriors 192 on July 12. It’s been a full year since Haque last stepped into the cage, and the reigning champion now faces red-hot contender Jawany Scott, who’s riding a five-fight winning streak and making serious waves in the European MMA flyweight division.

Haque hasn’t competed since July 2023, with multiple bouts against Nicolas Leblond scrapped due to unforeseen circumstances. The British standout captured his belt with a third-round finish over Sam Creasey at Cage Warriors 148 and last defended it in a clean performance against Michele Martignoni—his last appearance before the hiatus.

Scott, one of the top rising UK MMA prospects in 2024, burst onto the Cage Warriors scene after stopping Ubay Gonzalez at BRAVE CF 75. Since then, he’s submitted Jean Matos, earned back-to-back decisions, and most recently finished Jonny Touma at CW 186—securing his shot at Haque’s belt.

With 21 pro fights, Haque brings deep experience and polished technique, but Scott enters with more recent cage time and undeniable momentum. As Cage Warriors 192 approaches, the flyweight division could be in for a major shift.

“Shaj has built a reputation as one of the most skilled flyweights in Europe,” said Cage Warriors president Graham Boylan. “But Jawany is the most active fighter on our roster. Fans have been asking for this one—and it’s going to deliver.”
