The Professional Fighters League is set to return with a bang on August 1, as PFL World Tournament 8 takes over Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The championship event features two title fights and a card stacked with elite prospects, veterans, and unbeaten contenders.
At welterweight, red-hot prospect Thad Jean puts his undefeated streak on the line against former Bellator standout Logan Storley. Jean surged through the bracket with wins over Mukhamed Berkhamov and Jason Jackson, while Storley leaned on his wrestling to dominate Joseph Luciano and Masayuki Kikuiri en route to the final.
The featherweight final pits reigning 2023 PFL champion Jesus Pinedo against the undefeated Movlid Khaybulaev in a matchup of dynamic styles. Pinedo impressed with stoppages of Adam Borics and Gabriel Braga, while Khaybulaev used his control and composure to edge Tae Kyun Kim and Jeremy Kennedy.
Elsewhere on the main card, striking specialist Asael Adjoudj faces French veteran Yves Landu in what could be a Fight of the Night candidate. Undefeated middleweight Jordan Newman takes on powerful finisher Eslam Abdul Baset in a bout that could produce a future title challenger.
The preliminary card offers plenty of action. At lightweight, Husein Kadimagomaev meets Kyle Driscoll, while top Irish featherweight Nathan Kelly squares off with Frederik Dupras. Catchweight banger Jakub Kaszuba returns against Sergio Cossio Dominguez, and Damion Nelson welcomes Isaiah Diggs to the PFL cage.
To open the night, featherweights Matt Turnbull and Tom Pagliarulo collide in a fast-paced showdown expected to set the tone. The prelims begin at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN+, with the main card airing live at 9 p.m. ET on both ESPN and ESPN+.
With high-stakes championship bouts, undefeated talent, and a loaded undercard, PFL World Tournament 8 is shaping up to be one of the most important MMA events of the summer.
