Tony Ferguson Hints at Fight Comeback, Still Has Eyes on Dillon Danis

Tony Ferguson never made his expected debut with the Global Fight League (GFL), but if you thought “El Cucuy” was done, think again. Originally set to face Dillon Danis during GFL’s launch weekend on May 24 and 25, both events were scrapped — leaving fans, and fighters, in limbo. Now Ferguson’s hinting that his next chapter is already in motion.

He fired off a post this week that read simply: “Danis still gon’ get demolished.” Attached? A highlight reel set to a Miley Cyrus quote and a clip of seals barking. Yep — pure, unfiltered Ferguson.

A former interim lightweight champ in the UFC, Ferguson is riding an eight-fight losing streak, with his last win coming in 2019. He parted ways with the UFC after a submission loss to Michael Chiesa in August 2024, but at 41, he remains one of the most unpredictable personalities in MMA — and fans still pay attention when he talks.

Danis, on the other hand, is better known for trolling than throwing hands. He’s 2–0 in MMA under the Bellator banner, both wins by submission — but that was years ago. More recently, he made headlines for a wild boxing match against Logan Paul that ended in a disqualification after Danis attempted a takedown. A planned bout with KSI also fizzled earlier this year due to KSI’s illness.

The original Ferguson vs. Danis clash might’ve fallen through, but the heat between them hasn’t cooled off. Whether it’s under the GFL banner or somewhere else entirely, don’t be surprised if these two still find a way to scrap.
