Islam Makhachev makes history at UFC 330
Islam Makhachev left Philadelphia with his welterweight championship and a place alone in the UFC record books. The Russian champion defeated Ian Machado Garry by unanimous decision in the main event of UFC 330: Makhachev vs. Machado Garry, recording his 17th consecutive UFC victory.
That moved Makhachev beyond Anderson Silva’s famous run of 16 straight wins, which had stood as the promotional record for more than a decade.
Makhachev vs. Machado Garry was competitive, but the champion repeatedly found ways to dictate where the fight took place. Garry had success at range and made Makhachev work, particularly as the fight developed, but Makhachev’s wrestling and positional control kept pulling the momentum back in his direction.
One of his biggest striking moments came from a head kick that caught Garry clean and briefly stunned the Irish challenger.
Had to see that headkick again 👀

Mackenzie Dern retains against Gillian Robertson
The co-main event was another five-round championship fight, with Mackenzie Dern successfully defending the strawweight belt against Gillian Robertson. Dern vs. Robertson promised elite grappling and delivered it almost immediately.
Dern threatened with a submission in the opening round and continued controlling many of the most important exchanges as the fight progressed.

Robertson remained dangerous enough to force Dern to stay disciplined, but the champion did the better work over 25 minutes and earned scores of 49-46, 49-46 and 48-47.
Jalin Turner scores a 39-second knockout
The quickest statement on the main card belonged to Jalin Turner. He needed just 39 seconds to knock out Kauê Fernandes in Turner vs. Fernandes, turning what looked like an intriguing lightweight matchup into a blink-and-you-missed-it finish.
Dustin Stoltzfus submitted Mansur Abdul-Malik late in round two of Stoltzfus vs. Abdul-Malik, while Esteban Ribovics stopped veteran Edson Barboza at 1:32 of the second round in Ribovics vs. Barboza.
Tresean Gore survives brutal Vicente Luque flying knee
One of the strangest fights of the prelims came in Gore vs. Luque. Vicente Luque landed a vicious flying knee that knocked teeth out of Tresean Gore’s mouth, but Gore somehow recovered, continued fighting and ultimately won all three rounds on the judges’ scorecards, 30-27 across the board.
