Itsuki Hirata vs. Jihin Radzuan Full Fight | ONE X (2022)
Watch Itsuki Hirata face Jihin Radzuan in their first women's atomweight MMA fight at ONE X on March 26, 2022. The Japanese prospect entered undefeated at 5-0, but Radzuan spoiled her perfect record with a split-decision victory after three competitive rounds at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
This ONE Championship full-fight replay revisits the original meeting between two atomweight contenders ahead of their long-awaited rematch at ONE Samurai 4 in Tokyo. Four years later, Hirata finally has the opportunity to avenge the first defeat of her professional career.
Itsuki Hirata vs. Jihin Radzuan 1: The ONE X split decision
Hirata arrived at ONE X as one of the promotion's most promising young fighters. The Japanese judoka had won her first five professional appearances, including a unanimous decision over Alyse Anderson in the 2021 ONE Women's Atomweight World Grand Prix quarterfinals.
Radzuan was a different challenge. The Malaysian fighter, nicknamed "Shadow Cat," entered on a two-fight winning streak and had recently defeated experienced Japanese contender Mei Yamaguchi.
Their first encounter became a difficult tactical matchup for Hirata. She repeatedly looked to impose her judo, but Radzuan defended her throws, escaped dangerous positions and answered with strikes during the exchanges.
Even when Hirata managed to initiate grappling sequences, Radzuan proved difficult to control. The Malaysian remained competitive in the clinch, along the cage and on the ground, frustrating the techniques that had helped Hirata build her undefeated record.
After 15 minutes, Radzuan earned the split-decision victory, improving to 8-2 and handing Hirata her first professional loss. The close scorecards reflected a competitive contest, but Radzuan's ability to neutralize Hirata's preferred offense made the result a significant upset.
Four years later: Hirata and Radzuan meet again at ONE Samurai 4
The fighters are now preparing for their second encounter at ONE Samurai 4 on October 17, 2026, at Ariake Arena in Tokyo.
Hirata has openly discussed wanting this rematch since their first fight. After a difficult stretch that included three consecutive defeats, she has won two of her last three appearances. Her latest victory came against Ritu Phogat at ONE Samurai 1 in April 2026, where she secured a third-round rear-naked choke.
That Tokyo event also featured the Yuya Wakamatsu vs. Avazbek Kholmirzaev flyweight title fight.
Radzuan, meanwhile, enters the rematch with a 10-5 professional record. She stopped previously unbeaten Gabriela Fujimoto in February 2026 before losing a closely contested split decision to Anastasia Nikolakakos in July.
The Hirata vs. Radzuan rematch now offers both fighters an opportunity to strengthen their positions in ONE's women's atomweight division. Hirata wants to demonstrate how much her grappling has improved, while Radzuan is targeting a more decisive victory than their first meeting.
ONE Samurai 4 preview: Other MMA fights in Tokyo
The October 17 card is headlined by Jonathan Haggerty defending his ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Championship against former champion Hiroki Akimoto. Nadaka Yoshinari also defends his atomweight Muay Thai title against Rifdean Masdor.
Alongside the Hirata-Radzuan rematch, two additional MMA bouts feature Japanese fighters. At lightweight, Shozo Isojima meets Kota Abe in an all-Japan contest. Their lightweight matchup adds another MMA attraction to a card dominated by high-profile striking contests.
The flyweight division is represented by Yu Takeuchi vs. Ryoto Nishiyama, another domestic matchup featuring two Japanese competitors.
For Hirata and Radzuan, however, the most relevant preparation is revisiting their original ONE X encounter. The first fight demonstrated how effectively Radzuan could disrupt Hirata's judo. The rematch will test whether the Japanese fighter has found the answers that eluded her in Singapore.
