The Shooto Brasil rematch offered a different test. Vieira survived the finishing situations that had ended their first meeting and forced Piazzon through 15 minutes, with both heavyweights trading at close range and spending significant stretches battling for position in the clinch.
Piazzon ultimately did enough across all three rounds to take the unanimous decision. While it lacked the knockout finish of their first meeting, the result gave him another useful win against a familiar opponent and added three more rounds of heavyweight cage time before a much bigger opportunity later in 2026.
Piazzon returns to Dana White’s Contender Series
Piazzon has already been through the unusual pressure of Dana White’s Contender Series. He first appeared at Contender Series 2023 Week 8 against Alexander Soldatkin.
That fight produced one of the stranger endings of the season. Soldatkin landed an illegal knee early in the third round while Piazzon was grounded, leaving the Brazilian unable to continue. Piazzon was awarded the victory by disqualification, but the circumstances meant the fight never produced the kind of clear UFC audition either heavyweight wanted.
Nearly three years later, Piazzon is getting another chance.

He beat Vieira for a second time, completed all 15 minutes at Shooto Brasil 135 and now moves toward the fight that could determine whether his second appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series finally opens the UFC door.
