DWCS 2026 Week 4 brings five more UFC contract opportunities

Dana White's Contender Series moves into the fourth week of Season 10 on Tuesday, September 1 with another five-fight card at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas. Contender Series 2026: Week 4 is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on Paramount+, with ten fighters trying to convince Dana White and the UFC matchmakers that they belong on the roster.

The bar has been set unusually high this season. Fifteen fighters earned contracts across the opening three episodes, including five winners in Week 3 after Alex Apodaca's huge upset of Bella Mir. That keeps Season 10 on pace to challenge the DWCS record of 46 contracts awarded in a single season.

Week 4 doesn't have one prospect carrying the enormous attention Bella Mir did, but it may be a deeper card from top to bottom. There are experienced regional champions, returning Contender Series fighters, high-level finishers and several prospects arriving on lengthy winning streaks.

Patrick Rivera vs Adam Darby headlines DWCS Week 4

The main event pairs Patrick Rivera with Irish welterweight Adam Darby in Rivera vs. Darby.

Rivera is the oldest fighter on the card at 34, but he arrives at arguably the best point of his career. The Baltimore-based veteran owns a 13-4 record and has won six straight fights, including three consecutive finishes. His background also goes beyond MMA: Rivera has competed professionally in boxing and previously won a kickboxing world championship.

Darby represents a very different profile. The 27-year-old is 7-1, stands 6-foot-3 at welterweight and has won six consecutive fights since suffering the only loss of his career. Five of those six victories came inside the distance, with his recent Cage Warriors run establishing him as another prospect to watch from the Irish scene.

Darby's ability to finish from grappling positions is particularly relevant against the more experienced Rivera.

Brandon Holmes gets another shot against Modestino Rodrigues

Brandon Holmes already knows what it feels like to leave the Contender Series without a contract. The 6-1 middleweight previously lost to Cam Rowston on the show, but responded with a first-round stoppage of Preston LaGrange to earn another opportunity.

His opponent in Holmes vs. Rodrigues may be one of the most dangerous finishers on the card. Brazil's Modestino Rodrigues is 7-1 and has finished every professional victory. The 22-year-old has also competed in the K-1 World Grand Prix, although this will be his first MMA appearance in roughly 14 months.

That makes the middleweight fight an interesting test of Holmes' previous DWCS experience against Rodrigues' striking upside.

Liam McCracken vs Silvestre Sanchez could steal the show

Liam McCracken enters McCracken vs. Sanchez with an 8-1 record, five consecutive victories and finishes in all eight of his professional wins. His career was nearly derailed by a serious accident several years ago, making his arrival on the Contender Series a notable comeback story in itself.

Silvestre Sanchez brings almost identical momentum from Mexico. The 24-year-old is 9-1, has won five straight and has stopped every opponent during that streak. Sanchez has developed under the Lux Fight League banner while also training at the UFC Performance Institute in Mexico City.

With both lightweights accustomed to ending fights rather than managing scorecards, this is one of Week 4's strongest candidates for a contract-winning finish.

Gabriel Lourenço faces former football player Charlie Cleveland

The heavyweight matchup between Gabriel Lourenço and Charlie Cleveland offers another contrast in backgrounds.

Lourenço lost his professional MMA debut but has been perfect since, putting together seven consecutive victories with six finishes. Lourenço vs. Cleveland now gives him the biggest platform of that run.

Cleveland enters at 6-1 after transitioning to MMA from American football, where he played defensive end at Division II Tiffin University. Charlie Cleveland has won four straight and most recently ran through The Ultimate Fighter 30 veteran Nyle Bartling.

For a heavyweight division that is always looking for athletic prospects, both men have an obvious opportunity to get noticed.

Hunter Smith welcomes Adam Livingston back to the Contender Series

The opening lightweight fight features Hunter Smith against returning DWCS competitor Adam Livingston.

Smith is 8-1 and has won four straight since his only professional defeat. More importantly, he avenged that loss earlier this year with a first-round stoppage. He also spent part of his preparation in Las Vegas at Syndicate MMA, removing some of the adjustment that can come with arriving at the APEX for the biggest fight of a regional career.

Livingston was undefeated when he made his first Contender Series appearance last season but lost to Tommy Gantt. He returned to the regional circuit and responded in May with a spinning-back-elbow stoppage at LFA 232. Six of his seven professional victories have ended inside the distance.

Smith vs. Livingston therefore puts an 8-1 newcomer against a 7-1 fighter who already knows exactly what it feels like to get one shot at a UFC contract and leave without it.
