OKTAGON 94 Results: Vémola Derails Vosgröne Hype Train, Kozma Submits Eckerlin

Christian Eckerlin's return to Deutsche Bank Park was supposed to be another huge Frankfurt moment. Instead, David Kozma walked into the German star's home stadium and submitted him with two seconds left in the opening round.

That upset capped a finish-heavy OKTAGON 94 on September 26, 2026, with around 58,000 spectators inside the Frankfurt football stadium. Karlos Vémola also returned successfully against previously unbeaten Frederic Vosgröne, while Max Coga beat Christian Jungwirth in the co-main event.

Seven of the night's 10 contests ended inside the distance, including the special Stand & Bang fight between Edmon "Ringlife" Avagyan and Dominic Schober.

David Kozma submits Christian Eckerlin in the first round

There was no need for the judges in the main event.

Former long-reigning OKTAGON welterweight champion David Kozma took Eckerlin down early and spent much of the round controlling the fight on the mat. With the end of the round approaching, Kozma found the rear-naked choke and forced Eckerlin to submit at 4:58.

For Kozma, whose championship reign once stretched across six title-fight victories, the result was a major win in his 50th professional MMA bout. For Eckerlin, it was a very different ending from his previous appearance at Deutsche Bank Park, where he had been crowned the "King of Germany" in front of 59,148 spectators in 2024.

 

 

The Eckerlin vs. Kozma result gives the Czech veteran a third consecutive victory in 2026 after decision wins over Jozef Wittner and David Zawada.

Max Coga beats Christian Jungwirth over three rounds

Frankfurt did get a home victory in the co-main event. Max Coga returned after a two-year absence to defeat Christian Jungwirth by unanimous decision, with the judges scoring the fight 29-28, 30-27 and 29-28.

The Coga vs. Jungwirth matchup was fought at welterweight and became one of the night's longer, more physical battles rather than another quick finish.

 

 

Karlos Vémola hands Frederic Vosgröne his first MMA loss

One of the biggest questions on the OKTAGON 94 card concerned Karlos Vémola. The former OKTAGON middleweight and light heavyweight champion had retired following his trilogy win over Attila Végh before accepting the challenge from unbeaten grappler Frederic Vosgröne.

The 41-year-old veteran showed that his wrestling and top pressure still translate. Vémola controlled key portions of the matchup before stopping Vosgröne with ground-and-pound at 4:50 of Round 2.

It was the first professional MMA defeat for Vosgröne, who had entered the Vémola vs. Vosgröne fight at 5-0 with all five victories coming by submission.

 

 

Fedor Duric passes the Marc Diakiese test

Fedor Duric faced the most experienced opponent of his young career in former UFC lightweight Marc Diakiese and came through with a unanimous decision victory.

Diakiese brought 15 UFC appearances into the matchup, making Duric vs. Diakiese a significant step up for the 22-year-old Frankfurt prospect. Duric couldn't add another stoppage to the card, but beating an opponent with Diakiese's experience over three rounds was a meaningful result.

Ringlife stops Dominic Schober under Stand & Bang rules

OKTAGON also broke from the standard MMA card for Edmon "Ringlife" Avagyan against Dominic Schober. The contest was held under the promotion's Stand & Bang rules, removing the grappling element and turning it into a striking-only fight with small gloves.

Avagyan dropped the vastly more experienced Schober multiple times and forced a first-round TKO stoppage.

 

 

Ilbay, Cordero and Dulatov deliver first-round finishes

The prelims were packed with quick endings.

Deniz Ilbay handed Hugo Vach a defeat with a first-round knockout at 2:23 in Ilbay vs. Vach. It was a significant turnaround for Ilbay against a fighter who had entered the night on a five-fight winning streak.

Jaime Cordero followed with another first-round stoppage, overwhelming Robert Pukač with strikes at 3:55 of Cordero vs. Pukač.

 

 

Tamerlan Dulatov was even quicker. The unbeaten welterweight caught Nikola Janković in a triangle choke for a technical submission at 1:24 of the first round. Dulatov entered OKTAGON 94 with five first-round professional victories and kept that perfect finishing pattern intact in Dulatov vs. Janković.

Raul Lemberanskij remained unbeaten as well, defeating Roman Paulus by unanimous decision in Lemberanskij vs. Paulus.

Michael Obodozie opens OKTAGON 94 with a 64-second TKO

The first MMA fight of the night produced the first upset and the first finish. Michael Obodozie stopped previously unbeaten Oskar Staszczak with punches just 1:04 into Round 1.

 

 

The victory in Obodozie vs. Staszczak was another example of how quickly the card established its tone: five of the first six MMA bouts ended in the opening round.
