OKTAGON 94 Highlights: Kozma Submits Eckerlin, Vémola Stops Vosgröne
OKTAGON 94 delivered seven finishes in ten fights, six of them in the opening round, as nearly 60,000 fans packed Frankfurt's Deutsche Bank Park for the promotion's 10-year anniversary celebration. The stadium card ended with David Kozma submitting hometown star Christian Eckerlin just two seconds before the end of Round 1.
These OKTAGON 94 highlights cover the biggest finishes and moments from September 26, 2026, including Karlos Vémola's successful return against previously unbeaten Frederic Vosgröne and the three-round battle between Max Coga and Christian Jungwirth. David Kozma submits Christian Eckerlin with two seconds left
Eckerlin entered the main event with a huge home-field advantage, but Kozma quickly took the fight away from the German star's preferred striking range. The former long-reigning OKTAGON MMA welterweight champion secured an early takedown and spent much of the opening round controlling Eckerlin on the ground.
With the horn approaching, Eckerlin gave up his back. Kozma immediately attacked the neck and locked in a rear-naked choke, forcing the tap at 4:58 of Round 1. Instead of heading to the corner, Kozma had secured one of the night's biggest upsets with only two seconds remaining.
The result gave Kozma a major victory after entering hostile territory against one of German MMA's biggest draws, while Eckerlin suffered a submission defeat in the same stadium where he had beaten Christian Jungwirth two years earlier.
Karlos Vémola ends Frederic Vosgröne's unbeaten run
Karlos Vémola had retired following his trilogy victory over Attila Végh in June 2025, but returned roughly 15 months later to answer a challenge from Frederic Vosgröne.
Vosgröne entered at 5-0 with five submissions and considerable hype around his grappling. Vémola's experience proved decisive. The former two-division OKTAGON champion pressured the German prospect, repeatedly brought the fight to the ground and eventually finished from top position with punches at 4:50 of Round 2.
The TKO handed Vosgröne his first professional MMA defeat and gave Vémola a successful comeback at 41 years old. Watch the complete contest in MMAtown's Karlos Vémola vs. Frederic Vosgröne full fight.
Max Coga wins 330-strike battle with Christian Jungwirth
The co-main event could hardly have been more different. Max Coga was competing for the first time since October 2024 after a serious hand injury and multiple surgeries, while Christian Jungwirth entered with the relentless pressure that has made him one of the promotion's most recognizable German fighters.
They fought for all three rounds. According to OKTAGON, the pair combined for 330 strikes in a high-volume welterweight battle before Coga earned a unanimous decision, with scores of 30-27, 29-28 and 29-28.
For Coga, it completed a comeback nearly two years in the making. For the full injury story, rehabilitation and buildup to the fight, watch MMAtown's Max Coga vs. Christian Jungwirth documentary and OKTAGON 94 preview.
Six first-round finishes on a 10-fight card
Kozma's last-second submission was only one part of a finish-heavy night. Deniz Ilbay knocked out Hugo Vach at 2:23 of Round 1, Jaime Cordero stopped Robert Pukač at 3:55, Tamerlan Dulatov submitted Nikola Janković with a triangle choke at 1:24 and Michael Obodozie stopped Oskar Staszczak after just 64 seconds.
Under OKTAGON's Stand and Bang rules, Edmon "Ringlife" Avagyan also stopped Dominic Schober with punches at 2:56 of the first round. Only three of the ten fights needed the judges: Coga-Jungwirth, Fedor Duric vs. Marc Diakiese and Raul Lemberanskij vs. Roman Paulus.
The combination of nearly 60,000 spectators, seven finishes and three major storylines at the top of the card made OKTAGON 94 an appropriate centerpiece for the promotion's 10th anniversary celebrations. Readers unfamiliar with its growth across the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany can also see MMAtown's guide to what OKTAGON MMA is and how the promotion grew.
The schedule moves back to the Czech Republic next. OKTAGON 95 takes place October 17 at Mattoni Arena in Karlovy Vary, headlined by Patrik Kincl vs. Dominik Humburger in a middleweight matchup with major title implications.
