Initially immersing himself in the art of Muay Thai, Cañarte subsequently turned to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. During this transition, he realized the potential trajectory of his future in martial arts. Thanks to the backing of his parents, Cañarte was able to leave both his job and school to fully concentrate on MMA. His unwavering dedication started bearing fruit in 2020 when he triumphed in his professional MMA debut with a first-round TKO victory.
