In 2011, Kubo emerged victorious in the Japanese national tournament of K-1 at the Lightweight division, solidifying his position as one of the top contenders in his weight class.
After a successful kickboxing career, Kubo made a significant decision in June 2020. He announced his retirement from kickboxing and transitioned into the role of a coach, establishing his own gym called "PURGE TOKYO." Alongside his coaching endeavors, Kubo has expressed his aspirations to venture into the realm of boxing, demonstrating his unwavering passion for combat sports.

He claimed the prestigious title of the 2012 ISKA K-1 World Light-Welterweight (64.5 kg) Champion, further solidifying his status as an elite athlete. Additionally, he secured the championship in the 2013 Glory 65kg Slam Tournament organized by GLORY, further cementing his reputation as a force to be reckoned with. Kubo's success extends to the World Professional Muaythai Federation, where he was crowned the 2007 WPMO World Super featherweight champion.
