ARES FC 36 Results: Jbalia vs. Sobirov Finish, Azizov Wins Flyweight Title in Paris

ARES FC 36 Results: Jbalia Stops Sobirov, Azizov Grabs Flyweight Gold in Paris

The European MMA scene finished the year with a bang as ARES FC returned to the Adidas Arena for Ares FC 36: Jbalia vs. Sabira. The Paris card delivered what fans expect from high-level French MMA: late finishes, wild swings in momentum, and two title fights that genuinely mattered for the regional landscape.

Jbalia survives war with Sobirov to claim interim featherweight belt

In the main event, undefeated French prospect Ghassen Jbalia kept his perfect record intact, stopping Abubakar Sobirov in the fourth round. Their clash in Jbalia vs. Sobirov felt like a classic ARES FC championship fight – long stretches of pressure, grinding clinch work against the fence, and then a late surge once fatigue set in. Jbalia gradually broke Sobirov down and poured on strikes until the referee had no choice but to step in.

For a featherweight division that has quietly become one of the most competitive on the French scene, Jbalia’s interim title win positions him as a genuine future star for Ares FC.

Temerlan Azizov takes flyweight crown after fourth-round submission

The co-main event might have been even more dramatic. Undefeated champion Batsukh Uuganbayar looked sharp early, but Temerlan Azizov refused to go away. Their flyweight title clash, Azizov vs. Uuganbayar, turned into a high-pace scramble fest with constant level changes and transitions.

By the fourth round, Azizov finally found the window he’d been hunting. He hit a slick transition on the mat, slid into a tight choke and forced the tap, taking home the ARES flyweight belt and handing Uuganbayar his first professional loss. It was the kind of finish that gets replayed on highlight reels for years.

Begai, Binate and Vienot keep the KO reel rolling

Further down the main card, heavy hands and sharp timing were the theme. In Begai vs. Gritko, Paulin Begai wasted no time, smashing through Gheorghe Gritko for a first-round TKO that had the arena on its feet.

Youssouf Binate showed composure over three rounds against Georgi Angelov, earning a clear decision in Binate vs. Angelov. Ramazan Mustapaev impressed with disciplined wrestling and striking in Mustapaev vs. Sabatino, while kickboxing star Jimmy Vienot finally got his big MMA finish, stopping Alessio D’Auria in Vienot vs. D'Auria.

Delphine Benouaich added another strong grappling display for the French scene, quickly locking up a submission over Lindsey Payne in Benouaich vs. Payne to close out the main card.

Prospects shine on the ARES 36 preliminary card

The prelims quietly did a lot of work for the future of the roster. In Camara vs. Makongo, Alou Camara dragged Elie Makongo into deep water and found a late submission in the third round. Walid Masmoudi picked up a late TKO in Masmoudi vs. Saadi, turning a competitive fight into a statement finish.

Benoit Prigent stayed patient and technical in Prigent vs. Ndong, cruising to a unanimous decision. Wael Kambouche came out hot in Kambouche vs. Garros, snatching a first-round TKO, while Ludovic Agoué needed only one round to secure a submission over Wahbi Brahem in Brahem vs. Agoué.

All told, Ares FC 36 felt like a showcase of what modern French MMA can be: local champions crowned, prospects tested, and a highlight reel stacked from top to bottom under the ARES FC banner.
