As KSW, Poland’s premier MMA promotion, returns to Olsztyn for KSW 108, one of the Czech Republic’s top lightweight talents, Leo Brichta, is ready to make another statement. Originally set to face Patryk Kaczmarczyk, Brichta now turns his focus to rising featherweight threat Adam Soldaev in what could be one of the sleeper fights of the night.
“I actually think Soldaev is the more dangerous fight,” Brichta said ahead of the bout. “But this is what we do — adapt and move forward.” A seasoned striker and former interim title challenger, Brichta enters KSW 108 with three wins in four KSW appearances, including a dominant TKO earlier this year. His fight resume spans 19 pro bouts, and he’s been sharpening his skills at Czerwony Smok gym in Poznań — a second home for the Czech fighter.
“Every time I come to Poznań, I feel the energy — like I belong here,” said Brichta. “Now fighting in Olsztyn, Poland for the first time, alongside my close friend Igor Włodarczyk, it’s a perfect setup.”
Brichta previously challenged Valeriu Mircea for an interim lightweight title in one of the most talked-about bouts of his career — you can revisit that clash here. That loss snapped a nine-fight unbeaten streak that had put him on the global radar.
“That loss made me reevaluate everything — I used to fight 5-6 times a year, constantly grinding,” Brichta admitted. “Now I want to fight smart, stay sharp, and enjoy life. Balance is key.”
With 11 of his 13 career wins coming via finish, Leo Brichta remains one of the most electric fighters in the KSW lightweight division. His July 19 bout at KSW 108 could be a defining moment as he looks to get back in title contention.
