Jon Jones Back from Retirement? Dana White Eyes Aspinall Showdown for Potential White House UFC Card

The MMA world just got another twist. UFC boss Dana White confirmed this week that Jon Jones is back in the USADA pool — ending his short-lived “retirement” just two weeks after dropping the heavyweight title. But it’s where he might return that’s blowing people’s minds: White says he’s working on a fight card at the White House. Yes, the actual White House lawn. And Jones could be the headliner.

White dropped the news on the Full Send Podcast, where he openly floated a heavyweight super-fight between Jones and reigning champ Tom Aspinall. Just weeks ago, that matchup seemed dead in the water. Now? It’s back in play — and potentially on the most iconic stage MMA’s ever seen.

“My dream main event right now would be Aspinall vs Jones,” White said, pointing to the fight fans have begged for. Aspinall has stormed through the top of the UFC heavyweight division with scary ease, and Jones is still considered the GOAT. If they meet, it’s legacy vs momentum — and the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Sure, there’s still buzz around Ciryl Gane, but nothing touches the idea of Jones vs Aspinall — especially if it goes down in D.C. under the lights of the White House lawn. It would be the wildest UFC setting ever.

Meanwhile, Conor McGregor wants in too. White revealed the Irish star recently DM’d him, pitching a spot on the same card. McGregor hasn’t fought since 2021, but says he’s ready. Asked if he could return alongside Jones? White didn’t shut it down: “It’s possible.”

A UFC supercard on government grounds — with Jon Jones and Conor McGregor — would be historic. And if it really happens, Tom Aspinall might be the man standing across from Jones in the most surreal main event the sport’s ever seen.
