Maurice Abévi is looking to shake up the ONE Championship lightweight ranks at Fight Night 32 in Bangkok, where he’ll take on undefeated contender Alibeg Rasulov. Riding a three-fight win streak, the Swiss prospect believes he’s entering his prime.
“I feel amazing,” Abévi told ONE. “Every fight I’m getting sharper. I think I’ll stop him in the third round by TKO.”
That confidence comes off the back of a dominant first-round finish over Samat Mamedov — a fight where Abévi’s striking and grappling came together seamlessly. Rasulov brings pressure and elite wrestling, but Abévi sees cracks.
“He fights hard, but he overextends. I’m calmer and more calculated. I plan to break him down.”
Rasulov, a former title challenger, hasn’t tasted defeat yet. His relentless cardio is well-known — something Abévi says he’s ready for.
“He’s known for cardio, so I’ve worked mine even harder. I want to push past my limits.”
A win here could thrust either man into title contention. And if Abévi is right, Fight Night 32 might just be his breakout moment.
