ESPN lands exclusive ONE Championship rights in Australia and New Zealand
One championship is about to be a lot easier to watch in Australia and New Zealand. ESPN announced a multi-year agreement that puts ONE events exclusively on its network in those markets, spreading the live broadcasts across platforms like Disney+, Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Fetch TV, and Sky NZ.
In simple terms: if you’re in AUS/NZ and you follow ONE’s mix of MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and submission grappling, this is a major distribution upgrade. ESPN will carry the full calendar of ONE numbered events, the monthly ONE Fight Night cards, and the weekly Friday Fights series (with some pay-per-view exceptions).
ONE Fight Night 40 is the “launch event” for the ESPN era
The first big card under this deal is ONE Fight Night 40: Buntan vs. Hemetsberger 2, live from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok on Friday, February 13 (with ESPN’s AUS broadcast beginning late night local time).
ONE is clearly treating this like a statement show: a title-fight rematch on top, a loaded co-main, and a card built to introduce names that can become weekly favorites for new viewers.
And yes, they’re leaning into the hype. Ben Tynan’s promo alone is exactly the kind of weird-fun energy ONE does well:

MMA fights to know on ONE Fight Night 40
Even with the striking title fights getting the headlines, the MMA side is sneaky strong — prospect-building, divisional movement, and at least one fight that feels like it could turn into a real problem for everyone else if the winner looks sharp.

- Fight: Isojima vs. Lee
- Fight: Tynan vs. Takeuchi
- Fight: Hu vs. Kingad

If you’ve been meaning to “start watching ONE properly,” this is basically the cleanest entry point you could ask for: a marquee Fight Night card, now backed by a consistent broadcast home for AUS/NZ viewers.
