Trump Wants to Host a UFC Mega Event at the White House for America’s 250th Birthday

Former U.S. President Donald Trump is back in the headlines after pitching a wild idea: hosting a UFC fight on the White House lawn. During a public event in Iowa tied to America’s 250th anniversary in 2026, Trump floated the concept of turning Washington, D.C. into a fight capital — with 25,000 fans watching live from the Executive Mansion grounds.

“We’ve got a lot of space there,” Trump joked, referring to the South Lawn. His proposal is part of a broader vision for nationwide celebrations, but the UFC idea instantly stole the spotlight. With Trump’s long-running friendship with UFC president Dana White and years of cageside appearances, the plan doesn’t sound as far-fetched as it might first appear.

Trump’s latest cameo at a recent UFC title card — fresh off his 2024 re-election — showed he’s still a fan favorite among fight crowds. His bond with the MMA world continues to grow, and the White House bout could become a strange-but-real milestone in that relationship.

“Picture it,” he told the crowd. “A UFC fight, right there in front of the White House. I think we could pack 20,000, maybe 25,000 fans. It’d be something no one forgets.” Later, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Trump was “completely serious.”

Whether the event happens or not, the buzz alone shows just how deep the UFC has embedded itself in American culture — even at the highest levels of politics.
