UFC 329 ends with a brutal twist in McGregor’s return
UFC 329: McGregor vs. Holloway 2 was supposed to answer the biggest question in MMA: what does Conor McGregor look like after five years away? Instead, the main event at T-Mobile Arena ended almost before it began.
Just over a minute into Holloway vs. McGregor, McGregor attempted a leaping kick and appeared to suffer another serious leg injury. He tried to continue, but after slipping and falling around the cage, referee Mike Beltran stepped in. Max Holloway was declared the winner by TKO due to injury at 1:09 of the first round.

McGregor denies he walked in hurt
The ending immediately triggered debate. Some fans pointed to McGregor removing his shoes before the fight and wondered whether he had entered the cage already compromised.

McGregor pushed back hard after the fight, saying he was sharp, calm and ready, and that talk of him looking “off” during the walkout was nonsense.
I was so sharp and so ready for this fight I cannot believe what has happened. The talk of me being off while walking in to the fight is nonsense. I was calm, ready, and confident. I am in shock what has taken place. The devil is literally staring at me right in front of my face…
